In what ways did conflicting beliefs in cultures in the Mediterranean and Middle East, between 600-800 A.D., cause violence? (I believe Mr. Morris had said more specific examples, I hope this works.)
Does a set of violent beliefs open the way for a violent culture to take root? For example, did the belief in subjugating the larger population of slaves in Sparta lead to a culture based entirely on the subjugation of slaves? Or did the beliefs in the honor of battle in Rome lead to a culture based entirely on war and battles? (and half naked men fighting lions brought over from god-knows-where for no other reason but to make a mess)
Take those three terms begin free associating them as three connected ideas.
